On June 29th, the Workshop of Leadership Theories and Research Frontiers hosted by the RBS Organization and Human Resources Department was held in the Mingde Business Building. Distinguished guests from University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), Professor Robert C. Liden and Professor Sandy J. Wayne, were invited to attend the Workshop and discussed the frontiers of the leadership studies with the faculty members and students from the Enterprise Management Programme. The Workshop, chaired by Associate Professor Zhong Lifeng, was actively participated by faculty members from the Organization and Human Resources Department including Professor Zhang Kai, Professor Liu Jun and Dr. Yang Jun. Professor Mao Jiye, Associate Dean of the RBS, met with the two professors after the Workshop and friendly exchanged ideas with each other. Associate Professor Song Jiwen, deputy director of the Organization and Human Resources Department, made considerable contribution to the preparations and communications of the Workshop.
At the Workshop
During the Workshop, Professor Robert C. Liden and Professor Sandy J. Wayne shared their studies on Service-oriented Leadership and Leader-Member Exchange Theory (LMX) and made constructive suggestions concerning the papers the RBS faculty members and PhD students presented at the Workshop. Also, the two professors exchanged ideas with the faculty and students about the future development of leadership theories and studies, speaking highly of the research output of the RBS as well as the research potential of the RBS students. The Workshop concluded in a warm atmosphere.
