Vice-President Yi Zhihong Officially Appointed as Member of the EFMD Board of Trustees

On June 10th 2013, the European Foundation for Management Development (abbreviated as EFMD hereafter) announced on the Annual Meeting that Professor Yi Zhihong, Vice-President of the RUC and Dean of the RBS, was officially appointed as member of the EFMD Board of Trustees. Thus, Professor Yi Zhihong became the first-ever Chinese scholar on the EFMD Board of Trustees.

EFMD is Europe’s largest and most authoritative international professional association in management education and management development, boasting more than 800 institutional members from both the academic and business world of 81 countries specialized in different areas including the public service and the consulting service.The European Quality Improvement System (abbreviated as EQUIS hereafter) founded by the EFMD is acknowledged as one of the top 2 accreditations of business management education across the globe. The RBS has been improving its management education and promoting the international development through achieving the EQUIS accreditation. The EFMD Board of Trustees is the top administrative body of EFMD, comprising 1 chairman, 2 vice-chairman and 23 board members. The board members are selected from the group of famous university presidents and business school deans, with a 2-year service for each term of office and the possibility of reappointment for 3 times consecutively. The EFMD Board of Trustees convene 2 meetings per year to discuss the development strategies of EFMD, concurring with the EFMD Annual Meeting in June and the Deans’ Meeting in every January or February.

Successfully obtaining the accreditations from EQUIS in the December of 2010 and from AACSB in the April of 2013, the RBS became one of the first business schools that have won both accreditations. To meet the requirement of “enhancing the internationality of the school” specified in the twelfth Five-Year Plan of RUC, the RBS will further strengthen the connection with international accreditation organizati
