Selection of“China's Best Business Models of the 21st”Held at RBS

On November 3, 2012, the selection of “China’s Best Business Models of the 21st Century” was held by the EMBA Center of RBS on the fifth floor of Tower C, Huixian Building of RUC. Jointly initiated by the Twenty-first Century Media Group and the 21st Century Business Review, the selection serves as an opportunity to explore innovative models and business development in China, and further enhance the evaluation of an enterprise’s core competencies and business model reform.

Professor Songhua, vice-dean of RBS, and Dr. Feng Yunxia, director of the EMBA Center of RBS, were invited as the expert judges of the selection. There were 39 enterprise participants including renowned enterprises such as Guangming, Haier, Hitachi (China), Suning, CMSB, The Voice of China by Zhejiang Star TV, LeTV as well as a group of rapid-development SMEs, such as Mogujie, Maimaibao, Orange Hotel, Sogou, ihaveu.com, etc. At the selection ceremony, Huang Linjun, graduate of the EMBA class of 2006, and whose Beijing Dongguang Property Management Co. Ltd., was one of the participants in the selection competition, proposed the new concept of a “Property Logistic Service Supplier” which was commended by the judges.

Professor Songhua, commented on the selection, “This China Business Model selection covers a wide number of fields including the internet, information system suppliers, insurance and commercial businesses. All enterprises have common concerns about value positioning, profit systems and the integration of disparate resources and elements. However, it is still a challenge to figure out how to make use of business models to create positive industry ecologies and community ecologies which, in turn, promote an enterprise’s sustainable development.”
