Hillhouse Academy Meeting Held

　　On June 15, 2012, the second meeting of the first Committee of Hillhouse Academy of Renmin University of China (RUC) was held in Room 1320, Minde Main Building. Many founding members of the Committee attended the meeting, including the Chair of the Committee, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hillhouse Capital Management, Mr. Zhang Lei; Vice President of RUC and Dean of Hillhouse Academy, Professor Yi Zhihong; Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of China Investment Corporation, Mr. Xie Ping; CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of 360buy.com, Mr. Liu Qiangdong; Managing Director of the Investment Banking Department of China International Capital Corporation Limited, Mr. Wang Qing;  Head of Asia, Global Corporate Client Group, NYSE Euronext,  Mr. Michael Yang; Global Partner of TPG Capital, Mr. Sun Yanjun;  and the Executive Dean of the Academy, Mr. Lu Bing, to name but a few. The session was chaired by the Secretary General of the Committee, Mr. Feng Shuyong.

　　As the Chair of the Committee, Mr. Zhang Lei updated the Committee on the current development and the future prospects of the Academy. The Executive Dean Lu Bing delivered a report on the academy’s work for the past year and plans for the near future. An excellent video made by students of the Academy was played at the session looking back on the year 2011. Members made complimentary remarks on the Academy’s work in the past year. They noted that the liberal education of the Academy produce not only high achievers at school but also multi-skilled talents.
　　Secretary General Feng Shuyong followed up with an introduction to the resolution to elect Professor Chen Yulu, President of RUC, the honorary Chair and Mr. Sun Yanjun founding member of the Committee.
