Dean of Yale Management School Gave a Lecture at RBS

A new round of academic exchanges between  GNAM (Global Network for Advanced Management) member schools was unveiled  in RBS on October 25, 2013. Prof. Edward Adams Snyder, Dean of Yale School of Management was invited to give a lecture about strategic management for RBS students, which Prof. Yi Zhihong, Vice President of RUC and Dean of RBS, and Dr. Jiang Jing, Director of MBA Program attended.


Vice president Yi Zhihong first give a brief introduction of Prof. Snyder, who is the current Dean of Yale School of Management and former Associate Dean at University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Darden School of Business, University of Virginia, and University of Michigan Ross School of Business. In naming him to his current position in January 2010, Yale University President Rick Levin stated: "Ted Snyder is widely regarded as the most successful business school dean in the nation. He brings experience, enthusiasm, and vision to the Yale School of Management.”

In his presentation, Prof. Snyder explained how a company forms its strategies and leadership and shared his experience in formulating strategies for Yale Management School. He pointed out that strategies should be developed with great vision, farsightedness and full consideration of both the advantages and disadvantages of the organization. He also talked about the importance of leadership in the implementation of strategies and various behaviors of leadership in various scenarios. The highly interactive discussion last one hour and a half and was well received by students. During the Q&A session, Prof. Snyder answered questions regarding the Master of Advanced Management (MAM) program.
