--Celebration for the 60th Anniversary of RUC’s School of Business
The celebration for the 60th anniversary of the School of Business was held in Mingde Hall on November 7th, 2010, and was a prelude to a series of festive activities. Prof. JI Baocheng, President of Renmin University of China, extended his congratulations to RBS in a video clip, speaking highly of RBS’s significant contributions to China’s management education over the past 60 years and hoped RBS will become a world-class Business School. Prof. YI Zhihong, Dean of RBS, delivered a speech titled, Looking Ahead: Mission of the School of Business.
On the occasion of the 60th anniversary, RBS also held a lot of academic seminars and social events, including the 4th Management Forum of RUC, a Management Education Summit titled, Changing the World and the Mission of the Business School; an EMBA Summit titled, Changing the World and the Challenges and the Opportunities of Enterprises; a meeting initiated by students of the EDP program at RBS; RBS alumni gatherings, etc. Both RBS faculty and representatives from the business community attended the Management Education Summit and had lively discussions around the topic, Changing the World and the Mission of the School of Business, with the aim to define the responsibilities, the goals and the mission of education as well as catch up with the latest development of world management education.
The history of RBS perfectly reflects the development of management education in the People’s Republic of China.
