On August 4, 2012, the 2012 China Human Resource Management Summer Summit kicked off in Qingdao. The summit was founded by RBS and the Chinese Human Resource Theory and Practice Association and this year it was run by the Shandong branch of Renmin Univeristy of China (aka ‘Scitae Graduate School’). The summit gathered over 500 executives form top companies in Shandong province and across the nation. They attended 7 lectures and 1 onstage panel discussion to share their ideas and hands-on experience of human resource management . At the forum, new models and ideas were explored of HR management in China. Hot topics, distinguished guests and excellent running of the event made the summit a great success well acclaimed by all participants. The summit was opened by Associate Dean of RBS, Professor Xiangdong, Liu. He remarked that human resource management in China had improved significantly in the past decades, thanks to the robust performance of Chinese economy and the rapid growth of Chinese enterprises. “RUC is quite strong in human resource management research and has lots of contacts in industries. The Chinese Human Resource Theory and Practice Association set up by RBS is committed to building a platform for sound communication and co-operation between HR practitioners and researchers in China. On this platform HR professionals can reflect on their practice, develop the best practice and share it with their peers. Such activities will breed new theories and models to contribute to the development of human resource management in China.” said Professor Liu.
