September 27, 2012. The RBS-hosted Buddy Program-Exchange Student Orientation was held at the Mingde Reading Square. The Orientation gives overseas students from America, France, South Korea, Vietnam, etc., and Chinese students an opportunity for cross-cultural interaction and to share information on campus life.
At the beginning of the Orientation, Chinese and foreign students introduced themselves and spoke about their hobbies, interest and campus experiences.
Afterwards, students participated in a series of games used as icebreakers. A Prize Quiz tested students’ knowledge of RBS. The badminton competition was the highlight of the games, with students enthusiastically cheering on the players. Even though badminton is a traditional Chinese game, many of the foreign students turned out to be excellent players. Finally, the “Unbutton” game, where players link hands and have to undo the “buckle” tested their team cooperation.

The 2-hour activity ended in the afternoon with a group photo of all participants who, whether exchange students, Chinese students or organizers, had all deepened their cross-cultural friendships.
In recent years, RBS has been accelerating internationalization and has exchange agreements with 50 universities and has hosted hundreds of exchange students over the last few years. In autumn 2012 alone, RBS received 106 exchange students from Britain, France, the U.S., Canada, etc. including 89 ones as part of RBS’ exchange program and 17 from the university’s exchange program.
