2021 PEAK TIME National Business Simulation Contest was Successfully Held

The final of the 13th PEAK TIME National Business Simulation Contest was held online from April 7 to April 11, 2021. It was jointly sponsored by the Experimental Teaching Center of Economics and Management of Renmin University of China (RUC), Renmin Business School (RMBS), the Organizing Committee of PEAK TIME and CESIM from Finland.

The preliminary of the contest attracted 1400 teams from 150 universities across the country, and 77 teams from 76 universities made it to the final.

At the opening ceremony, Professor MAO Jiye, Director of Economics and Management Experimental Teaching Center of RUC and Dean of RMBS, delivered a speech. Firstly, he expressed warm congratulations to the participants, and then reviewed the development of simulation teaching in the School. Since 2008, the School has carried out a series of activities related to simulation, such as “MBA orientation sessions”, “online special training camp for elite management of the RUC”, “business contest on campus” and so on.

RUC is one of the first batch of participating institutions for PEAK TIME. RMBS students have won national championships for many times, participated in international exchanges for several times, and competed with many internationally renowned business schools on the world stage.

Finally, Professor MAO Jiye sincerely expressed his desire to exchange and study with brother universities and jointly promote teaching reform.

Mr. GUI Weiyao, CEO of CESIM, expressed greetings from Finland. He said: we can't stay in the comfort zone for long. When you successfully accomplish something, you may face a new and bigger challenge, and things may get out of control again. And this is how we grow up. No matter what the final result is, you are one of the 1400 teams that stand out and advance to the finals. Be proud of yourself.

The final consisted of 3 parts: On-line Simulation, English Presentation, and Business Case Demonstration.

After fierce competition, the participants finally ushered in the awards party on the evening of April 11th. The undergraduate team from Zhejiang Gongshang University and the MBA team from NanKai University won the grand prize.

Two undergraduate teams and one MBA team of RMBS competed in the final of the contest. In the end, “Shimokitazawa New Energy Vehicle” (team members: SU Yichen, JIN Zhibin, ZHOU Wenjun, LI Yulin) won the first prize among the undergraduate groups; “Click to Enter Nicknames” (team members: YUAN Wenzhao, ZHAO Chunge, CHEN Qianchi and WU Chaohong) won the second prize among the undergraduate groups; “RUC P6 Wave Team” (team members: XU Shuhua, JIANG Tao, XIN Jiahui and LI Hongpei) won the second prize among the MBA teams.

Finally, the final of the 13th PEAK TIME National Business Simulation Contest was successfully concluded.

Background

PEAK TIME originated from the world-renowned business simulation competition PEAK TIME from Northern Europe. This international event is hosted by the Nordic Simulation Teaching Alliance Center for the global finals. The Center consists of several Nordic universities and the foreign education department in Ministry of Education and Culture of Finland.

PEAK TIME has been held nationwide since 2009. The undergraduate champion will have the chance to attend the global PEAK TIME competition in Europe, while the MBA champion will be invited to visit Northern Europe for exchanges for 5 to 6 days.
