Inauguration of Renmin University Private Enterprise Governance and Development Center

On June 30th 2013, the Inauguration of Renmin University Private Enterprise Governance and Development Center -- International Roundtable on Family Business Governance, sponsored by the RBS and co-sponsored by Family Business Network Pacific Asia, INSEAD Wendel International Centre for Family Enterprise and Private Enterprise Governance and Development Center, was successfully held in the Chinese Literature Hall of the RUC. The theme of the Roundtable was “how to make the family business thrive from generation to generation”, which was fully discussed through keynote speeches and panel discussions. There were more than 40 celebrities from the worldwide corporate world and dozens of scholars from over 40 institutions both at home and abroad who attended the Roundtable.

On the morning of June 30th, Mr. Li Jianming, Vice Chairman of China Enterprise Confederation/China Enterprise Directors Association (CEC/CEDA), started with an opening speech, in which he delivered his congratulations on the establishment of Renmin University Private Enterprise Governance and Development Center and said that the Center would attract great attention by scholars from home and abroad to the issues of Chinese family business governance. He also said the Center would play a good role in encouraging academic interests in solving real problems that hamper the development of Chinese family businesses and helping scholars to carry their research forward based on a sufficient knowledge of China’s business practice.
