On October 21, 2012, the selection interviews for the 2nd Hillhouse Elite Project were held in Room 1007 and Room 1008 of the RBS Mingde Building, which attracted some 90 students from Beijing University, Tsinghua University and RUC.
The Hillhouse candidates were methodically selected through a series of stages including Resume Review, Business Competence Test, Comprehensive Written Test, etc. The interviews for the eight candidate groups took place at two o’clock in two rooms. The interviews took the form of non-leader group discussion by referring to the MBA interview. Each 1-hour interview included five sections: Material Reading, Personal Statement, Free Discussion, Presentation and Interviewer Question. The interviewer controlled the interview process and timing. To guarantee fairness, the interview test papers were unsealed on the spot.
Each interviewee displayed high-level personal qualities and professional competence in the interview. They were able to respond quickly, form their own ideas effectively and reach consensus in a group setting to make a convincing presentation. The interviewers praised their outstanding performance as representing the comprehensive quality of elite students. Some interviewers even proposed to give interviewees more time for discussion.
The On-going Interview
After each interview, interviewers not only gave grades, but also gave feedback on the interviewee’s strengths and weakness. All participants were impressed by the interviewers’ careful and responsible comments.
The interview result is yet to confirm and the elite list will be released soon.
