On 25 FEBRUARY 2016, the founding of RUC China Brand Academy Council and Expert Committee was held in Beijing, attended by Liu Junchen, Deputy Director of SAIC (State Administration for Industry and Commerce), Liu Wei, President of RUC, Liu Fan, Chairman of China Trademark Association, Yi Zhihong, the vice-president of RUC, etc.
Mao Jiye, Dean of RBS, firstly introduced the ongoing work of the academy. The regulations were approved at the conference, together with the appointment of council chairman, secretary-general, joint dean and associate dean of the academy. The council members and committee members were presented with the appointment letters by Liu Fan and Yi Zhihong, the joint council chairman and chairwoman. Liu Junchen and Liu Wei delivered their speeches afterwards.
In his address, Liu Junchen pointed out that the founding of Academy Council and Expert Committee not only marked the millstone of brand research, but also indicated China’s economic turn from product-oriented to brand-oriented. In the climate of New Normal, branding has its positive impact on industrial innovation and upgrade as well. The number of well-known brands is generally regarded as one of the essential measures of innovation capability and economic power. As an institute of brand review and research, the Academy is committed to follow the principle of objectivity, impartiality and transparency, and set a healthy tone for the branding market by releasing of China’s Brand Ranking, doing review and research of well-known trademarks or brands, and launching a series of successful branding cases. Meanwhile, he expected to see an inclusive and collaborative tie between the council and committee, looking forward to the establishment of brand evaluation system.
