On February 22, 2021, the General Office of the Ministry of Education (MOE) announced the list of national and provincial first-class undergraduate majors in 2020. After RMBS’s two undergraduate majors—business administration and accounting— were identified as having the potential to develop as top-tier majors nationally in 2019, financial management and trade economics were selected as national and provincial first-class undergraduate majors respectively in 2020.
Since April 2019, the MOE has launched the “Double First-Class Initiative” for the development of undergraduate majors. The School will take this opportunity to review the development plan of the undergraduate majors, promote professional reform and innovation and improve the quality of undergraduate talent training.
Major Introduction
Financial management was established in 2006 and offered by the Finance Department of RMBS. In recent years, the Department has undertaken more than 20 national scientific research projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the National Social Science Foundation of China (NSSFC), and more than 30 provincial and ministerial research projects supported by the MOE and the Ministry of Finance. The textbook —Financial Management —has accumulated more than 5 million copies since its publication in 1993, making it the best-selling financial management textbook for non-examination subjects. In addition, 12 papers have been published in international top journals such as JFE, RFS, MS, CAR, etc., and nearly 10 papers have been published in Economic Research and Management World.
