Frontiers of Business Research in China has made another major progress in its development as it is now included in the newly introduced ESCI (Emerging Sources Citation Index)by Thomson Routers in November 2015.
Emerging Sources Citation Index was launched by Thomson Reuters to extend the universe of publications in Web of Science to include high-quality, peer-reviewed publications of regional importance and in emerging scientific fields. According to Thomson Reuters,“Journals in ESCI have passed an initial editorial evaluation and continue to be considered for inclusion in products such as SCIE, SSCI, and AHCI, which have rigorous evaluation processes and selection criteria.” So far, 3,100 journals have been included in ESCI and all these journals can be indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection.
Created in 2007, Frontiers of Business Research in China is a double-blind refereed quarterly journal in business research. FBR publishes related original academic and practical research articles, commentaries and case studies.
In addition to ESCI, FBR is also abstracted and indexed in all major international databases including EconLit, INSPEC, SCOPUS, and ProQuest. According to the 2014 Annual Report for International Citation of Chinese Academic Journals, FBR was named one of the “Highest International Impact Academic Journals of China(Humanities and social sciences).” Being indexed in the ESCI indicates the highly international recognition of the journal’s academic quality, impact and visibility by publishers and researchers, and it is a firm-step forward toward the target of being indexed in the SSCI.
