On January 10, 2010, the forum of Going to College---the Path to Renmin University of China and Harvard University sponsored by RBS and Harvard China Fund was held at Yifu Conference Center.
Four students from Harvard and two from Renmin University of China answered some questions, such as “what is Harvard like?” “What kinds of students and teachers does Harvard have?” “What preparations did I make for entering a famous university?” “What qualifications are required to enter Harvard or RUC?” “How did I spend the first day in Harvard?”… …
Mr. Liu Li, a graduate of EMBA Class 0803, came to the forum by air with his wife and son from Shanghai. “It’s a rare opportunity to know about Harvard by talking to students from Harvard. Besides, my son is now in the first year of junior high school, so this activity is helpful for us to consider his future plan, whether to study at home or abroad.”
Assistant Dean Mao Jiye talked about the significance of this activity, “Such an international exchange is very important to us. Our teachers and students must have an international vision to know about foreign cultures and society and to have a high proficiency of language. More students will have the chance to join the exchange program with famous western universities. Great achievements in the fields of humanities and social science have enabled Renmin University of China to have an equal exchange with top universities in the world like Harvard.”
After students’ interaction, the vice-director of the Admission Office of Renmin University of China was invited to introduce China’s college entrance examination and admission.
