On June 3, the first Renmin Business School alumni conference was held at the Empark Grand Hotel, Beijing, to welcome the new Board of the RBS Alumni Association. Leaders of Renmin University of China (RUC), RBS and other schools and departments of RUC, together with all members of the new (second) Board and RBS alumni representatives, attended the conference.
Professor Yi Zhihong, Vice President of RUC and Dean of RBS, briefed the attendants on the historic development of the RBS Alumni Association and set out the expectations for the new Board. In her speech, Professor Yi said with the help of alumni, the outgoing Board established solid groundwork and a clear framework for work in the future. The second Board is expected to build on this work and, in a spirit of innovation, organize more activities.
Wang Yuying, Chair of the first Board of the RBS Alumni Association expressed heartfelt gratitude to members of the first Board and the Office of Alumni. Ms Wang stressed the importance of the Association and encouraged the new Board to adhere to the Charter of the Association, carry out planned work, step up the exchange of ideas, think outside the box, and work together for a better future.
The Secretary-General of the second Board, Li Lei, then led the review of the draft of the Charter of the RBS Alumni Association and announced the portfolios of the deputy secretary-generals. Attendants discussed the agenda of the new Board.
In the middle of the conference, Professor Chen Yulu, the President of RUC, met with leaders and alumni of RBS. She complimented RBS on its alumni activities and thanked Ms Wang Yuying for mobilizing alumni and coordinating the work of the Board to assist in the growth of RBS. Professor Chen also encouraged alumni to do more to support RBS and RUC.
At 2 pm, the handover ceremony began. Professor Jing Xin, Secretary of the
