The First Plenary Meeting for the Second Session of the Hillhouse Elite Training Program

On the evening of November 16, the First Plenary Meeting for the Second Session of the Hillhouse Elite Training Program was held in Room 0302, Mingde Building of RBS. Participants included the executive president of the Hillhouse Academy, Lu Bin, the director, Xu Jie, representatives of the first session and 50 members of the second session from three top universities-Peking University, Tsinghua University and RUC.

The members of the second session took turns introducing themselves. Students had one minute to describe themselves to their peers. Coming from different majors, grades and universities with varied academic backgrounds and professional competences, the students had rich experiences to share. They expressed appreciation toward Hillhouse Academy, expectations for the new session and their vision of the training plan.

Executive president Lu Bin and director Xu Jie both spoke at the meeting. Mr. Lu noted, “According to the plan made by Chairman of the Board Zhang Lei and RBS’s leaders, the Hillhouse Elite Program and the RUC-Yale Summer Program are two non-profit programs developed by Hillhouse Academy. Meanwhile, the degree program and the LDP program are progressing well .” Mr. Lu said that he expected that the program members would have a modest attitude towards learning and achieve measurable results in the one-year session. He also introduced the practicum and academic research that would be conducted during the session, which are closely linked to the Hillhouse Elite program. 

Afterward, the campus mentor team was introduced.  They  met with the new members of the second session for future communication.

Finally, for the election of the head of the department, the candidates made exciting speeches about their understanding of responsibility and gratefulness as well as ideas for future activities.
