ABSTRACT:
In this research talk, Professor Tan will first reflect on his research journey and share his insights in choosing meaningful research issues rooted in Chinese economic reform, and in telling the “China Story” to a broad audience. He then will share his insights about the competitive landscape and the evolution of innovation ecological network in the artificial intelligence sector, as well as implications for research and practice.
SHORT BIOGRAPHY:
Professor Justin Tan is the Newmont Endowed Chair in Strategy at the Schulich School of Business in York University in Toronto, Canada. He has also been visiting professors in numerous leading research universities in China, the US, Russia, UK, and Australia. He was the US Fulbright Distinguished Professor from 2005-2006 (the first and only such appointment in business/economics under China program). His research has been supported by the Ford Foundation, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, and published in leading academic journals such as Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, and Journal of International Business Studies, among others. He has also advised international agencies, multinational corporations and governments in the US, Canada and China.
