ABSTRACT:
This study explores how organizational ethical culture (OEC) drives organizational competitiveness through supply chain social sustainability (SCSS), applying Resource Orchestration Theory (ROT). Survey data from 214 French manufacturing firms were analyzed using structural equation modeling. Results reveal that OEC enhances competitiveness indirectly via SCSS, while environmental uncertainty weakens this link. By highlighting structuring, bundling, and leveraging processes, the study extends ROT to socially sustainable supply chain management. The findings show that ethical culture fosters socially responsible supply chain practices, which translate into competitive advantages, but environmental turbulence requires firms to balance long‑term SCSS commitments with flexibility.
