As a major dimension of RBS' internationalization enhancement effort, the appointment plan of overseas department co-chairs was rolled out last year, with Department of Finance hiring the School's first foreign co-chair. Last month has seen another well-established scholar, Prof. Daan van Knippenberg from Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), Erasmus University, joining RBS' faculty team as the co-chair of Department of Organization and Human Resources.
An appointment ceremony was held on April 23th, where Dean Mao Jiye and Prof. Zhang Kai, chair of the Department, congratulated Prof. van Knippenberg who recognized RBS' mission, values, and the Department's teaching and research excellence. Later that day, Prof. van Knippenberg made a speech titled "Build a Highly Productive Research Team: Experience from RSM." He mentioned that RSM and RBS share similar development objectives. In the last 12 years, RSM has launched an array of reform initives to level up its degree of internationalzation and built itself into a renowned school recognized, not only in Europe, even globally. He also pointed out that the key to RBS' internationalization enhancement lies at the internationalization of its faculty and doctoral program through publishing papers in top international journals.
Dean Mao summarized that high quality research is the kernel of a world-class business school. He firmly believed that the Department will accrelerate its development with Prof. van Knippenberg's input.
