The 1st Frontiers of Business Research in China (FBR) International Symposium was held on June 23-24, 2014 at Renmin University of China (RUC), in Beijing, China.
The symposium had four keynote speech sessions, and the speakers were Debra Shapiro of the University of Maryland, Xiao-ping Chen of the University of Washington, Anthea Yan Zhang of the Rice University, and Ray Friedman of the Vanderbilt University. Abstracts of the keynote speeches are available below. In addition to their keynotes, each of the speakers also served as discussants for two papers presented at the symposium. Prof. Zhihong Yi, Vice president of the RUC, and Prof. Jiye Mao, Dean of the School of Business of RUC and the Editor-in-Chief of the FBR delivered the opening addresses.
The symposium had 12 concurrent sessions with 45 paper presentations. The 12 sessions covered OB and HRM, Strategy and Management, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, and MIS. Among the 45 papers, 32 papers were contributed by authors form domestic universities and research institutions, and 13 papers were contributed by scholars from overseas universities in Canada, Denmark, Hong Kong, New Zealand, South Korea, Singapore, UAE, UK, and USA.
