On 26 November 2015, the signing ceremony of Agreement between RBS and SMU School of Accountancy for Graduate Collaborative Program was held in Mingde Business Building Room 712, attended by representatives of the two parties, RBS including Mao Jiye, Dean of RBS, Ye Kangtao, Associate Dean of RBS, and Guo Hai, deputy director of Department of General Manager while SMU including Cheng Qiang, Dean of School of Accountancy, and Wang Jiwei, Director of Program Director of Master of Professional Accounting.
According to the recitals, RUC offers a Business Management Experimental Program in English (“BMP”) in China and SMU offers a Master of Professional Accounting (“MPA”) program in Singapore. The whole program will be delivered in 2 stages at both universities as follows: (a) In Stage 1, the student will complete 6 RUC BMP courses in China. (b) In Stage 2, the student will complete 12 SMU MPA courses in Singapore and all remaining requirements in the SMU MPA degree, including professional development. Students will have a minimum of 2 years and a maximum of 3 years to complete all 2 stages of the Program. Currently the target number of students per intake is 10 students. The agreement of recitals’ details was made and entered into as of November 26, 2015, by and between the two parties.
On the signing ceremony, both of the parties spoke highly of the Program and agreed that it was an attempt of global collaborative education, and also a win-win strategy that would strike a new path by combining the strength of each school. On one hand, RBS provides students with a safe channel for studying abroad free from complicated procedures or unreliable agents while the business courses (English only) enable students naturally adapt to the international academic environment; on the other hand, SMU offers one-to-one career guidance and internship opportunities in top firms or enterprises, improving students’ competitiveness in profession and glo
