Worked with manufacturers, distributors and retailers in identifying profit improving opportunities across entire companies and then successfully leading finance, technology and process improvement implementation efforts.  Focused on helping companies improve profit by successfully implementing or enhancing utilization of ERP and related systems as well as work flow modification and simplification.

Advised C-Suite executives regarding strategic opportunities and then managed hands-on tactical implementation efforts. Identified sales opportunities in the practice and led subsequent business development efforts.  

Notable Accomplishments:

Ø   Assessed cost accounting and finance efficacy for a $500 million NE manufacturer. Within 3 weeks identified 27 significant control weaknesses and subsequently successfully led a complete finance, accounting, and treasury restructuring.

Ø   Established reporting metrics and key performance indicators for a mid-size manufacturer and distributor of consumer products ensuring that management focused on critical areas leading to improvement in efficiency and profitability.

Ø   Established management reporting package for merchandising, distribution, finance, treasury, operations and executive management for a regional manufacturer with national distribution operations.

Ø   Advised private equity investor leading to improved profitability through adoption of shared services. Consulting assignment spanned manufacturing, finance, treasury, inventory management, AR, and GL. Founded company designed to bring innovation to asset valuation, portfolio management and borrowing base establishment through a series of automated data collection and analysis modules.  

Notable Accomplishments:

Ø   Reduced planned development costs by using blended onshore/offshore approach employing 16 accounting professionals and senior software developers in the US and India. Spent 2 years in India spearheading development.

Ø   Met all business plan goals including timelines for product development.

Ø   Trained staff to be self-directing and able to perform a wide range of financial, analysis, accounting, valuation and other back-office functions.

Provider of advisory services for domestic and international firms concentrating on Finance/Operations Assessments, Raising Capital and reducing Risk Profiles.

Accountable for all operations including staffing, training, mentoring. Personally led over 300 company financial and operating assessment projects. Originated and delivered 30% of all new business.

Notable Accomplishments:

Ø   Consulted with mid-size and large manufacturers, distributors and retailers including Goodyear Tire, US Steel, Kia Motors, Daewoo, Ocean Pacific, Standard Auto Parts, Advance Auto, Delco Remy, CSK Auto, and Terra Industries in assessing and when necessary, restructuring finance, accounting and operations. Successfully reduced high risk profiles and returned companies to higher level of profitability. Complemented many assignments with cross references to best in class statistics.

Ø   Advised Daewoo and KIA Motors on how to structure their US Dealer and after-market parts distribution network.  Assisted both companies in successfully raising $550 million to enable their initial launch and growth into this market.

Recruited to corporate position charged to drive improved management of inventory across 600 stores throughout the United States.  Managed up to 90 personnel.

Notable Accomplishments:

Ø   Recognized for bringing highly disciplined approach to inventory management by automating and establishing inventory, margin tracking and reporting tools still in use today. Solely conceived, designed, and oversaw the programming and implementation of multibillion dollar chain’s first perpetual inventory system.

Ø   Implemented first statistical sampling and cycle count program improving sales through better in stock position and avoiding year-end warehouse closures. 

Ø   Cut inventory and margin administration costs 66% while enhancing actionable analysis and reporting yielding significant improvements in margin and company profitability.
