Sponsored by the Association for Consumer Research, the 2011 Asia-Pacific Conference of the Association for Consumer Research was held by RBS on June 16-18, 2011. With the theme of “Linking Cultures, Concepts & Continents”, about 170 famous scholars of marketing (including 130 from overseas universities) from Yale University, University of Arizona, University of Illinois, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, RUC and Tsinghua University were invited to the conference to discuss the hot issues of consumer research and share the latest academic research achievements. All to-be-published papers were reviewed anonymously and recognized as of high academic quality.
Distinguished guests present at the event included Prof. Linda Price, Chairman of 2011 ACR-AP and Head of the Marketing Department of the University of Arizona, Prof. Xiao Jingjian, Chairman of 2011 ACR-AP from the Department of Human Development and Family Studies of the University of Rhode Island, Prof. Sharon Shavitt from the University of Illinois, Chairman of the Association for Consumer Research, Prof. Russell Belk from York University, Prof. Hui, Michael King-man, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK and Doctor. Leo Yeung, Manager (China) of Galaxy Group China.
Prof. Linda spoke highly of the conference in her speech and recognized it as a good platform for scholars to exchange academic ideas and findings, improving the cross-cultural and interdisciplinary research in field of consumer behavior.
